I enjoyed Vernon Coleman's Bilbury Books so much, I've read nearly every one of them. The writing in this one was similar. I like that the cat calls the people "the uprights". And he captures the cat behaviors very well.He could have gone a little farther in making it sound as though the story is from the cat's perspective, however. For instance, the cat seems to know what expensive china and cutlery is, but differentiates between the upright who wears a skirt and the upright in trousers, seemingly not knowing the difference between a male and a female.
Still, it was a pleasant light hearted read and anyone who enjoys reading about cats should like it.

Very well written -- hilarious!! i can actually picture my cats doing these things!!! Plan on getting the follow-up to this book.
While I'm a dog person, this makes me consider a cat
This is a good book and I really enjoy it.
Found it rather boring so I haven't even finished it. Disappointed as I'm a cat fan and a reading fan.
Very fun... amazing that some people thought it was actually the CAT who wrote it. ;) Pretty darned enjoyable if you are a cat lover.
Very enjoyable book, I have by now read everyone of Vernon Colemans's books and must say I enjoyed everyone of them.....
I got these as gifts for cat lovers. They loved the book. To me the book seems like a clever approach - to see through the eyes of cats. I don't know if anyone else has done this before, probably - but Vernon Coleman does a very good job of this. It makes you think of the cats' side of the world. He knows cats.
